Google is beefing up its autonomous driving program again, having placed an online job ad for “vehicle operators” to work six to eight hours a day based at the company’s Mountain View headquarters in California.
According to the ad posted on Glassdoor.com, Google is looking for vehicle safety specialists who will collect data for its engineering team and run proprietary systems. Potential candidates must have a clean driving record and be able to “keep all project details confidential.”
Among other new hires, the tech titan is also looking for a systems engineer with a graduate degree in robotics or computer science, along with "high social intelligence" and a sense of humor.
The self-driving car project, which Google launched in 2009 with the goal of transforming mobility by making travel accessible to all, has already logged over one million miles with its driverless vehicles.
