Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy will remain in custody without bail in advance of his federal trial. A judge made the ruling Thursday after Bundy's attorney asked for, and was granted a review of his previous detention hearing in Oregon.

Bundy was present in the federal courtroom, wearing an orange jumpsuit, and flanked by guards.

Bundy's attorney presented letters from supporters who say he isn't a flight risk, and not a danger to society. The judge ultimately ruled not to allow bail for Cliven Bundy. Outside court his wife, Carol Bundy, claimed the court has no jurisdiction in the case and said her husband isn't a flight risk or dangerous.

"If Cliven Bundy was a threat I wouldn't even want him home," said Carol Bundy.

Bundy faces trial on crimes connected to the 2014 standoff with federal agents. Bundy can appeal the bail ruling, however his wife was unsure if he would do so.

The judge noted that Bundy ignored federal court orders for many years ahead of that confrontation and said he wasn't convinced Bundy would comply if he were freed.

Bundy denies U.S. government authority and declined last week to enter a plea in a demonstration that federal law doesn't apply to his case.

A federal judge has prohibited U.S. marshals from transferring leaders of the armed Oregon occupation to Nevada for court hearings related to a separate armed standoff against government agents two years ago.

Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy and Ryan Payne have been jailed in Portland since January for their roles in a 41-day standoff at an Oregon wildlife refuge. They wanted public lands relinquished to local control.

The Bundy brothers and others also have been charged with father Cliven Bundy in the 2014 armed standoff that stopped federal agents from rounding up cattle near Bundy's Nevada ranch. The patriarch is in court in Las Vegas on Thursday seeking his release from jail pending trial.

Payne's attorney Lisa Hay sought an emergency order Wednesday, saying the trio shouldn't be transferred until the Oregon case is over. She says sending them to Nevada would violate their right to have a speedy trial and effective counsel in Oregon.

U.S. District Court Judge Anna Brown granted the request. Her interim order also applies to at least two other Oregon defendants charged in the Nevada case.
